Mari Crawford (like calamari) is an artist based in NYC. She is the recipient of the Bounce Emerging Artist Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for her one woman show Bipolar Badass which premiered at the 2023 Asheville Fringe Festival and has been performed at the West End Theatre in NYC. Mari headlined the Bounce Arts Festival in Belfast, Ireland.
Mari has been featured on BBC WorldWide, NPR, and WNYC. The First Minister of Scotland Humza Yousaf wrote to Mari to congratulate her on Bipolar Badass and the Emerging Artist Award, you can see a copy of that letter here. She was a staff writer for Netflix Comedian Sammy Obeid's KO Comedy. Mari performs at several clubs in NYC including the West Side Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club and Greenwich Village Comedy Club and has performed in line-ups alongside notable acts including Tiffany Haddish and Ilana Glazer. Mari began performing stand-up comedy in New Orleans and was featured in The Last OG on TBS. She co-hosts Beautiful Bipolar Badass, a comedic podcast aimed to break the stigma behind the disorder. Mari is an alumna of the New York State Summer School for the Arts School of Theatre, the British American Drama Academy, and Bard College where she was awarded the Donald Parker Prize for Theater & Performance. She is a singer-songwriter and plays violin, guitar, and piano. She is signed with WSM Talent. |
